Institutional regulation
Short films
Regulations which must be followed are based of the guidelines. Which I have found from London film and BBFC which takes into account lots of factors from environment to insurance . Given that not much of code of practise is relevant given we not using animals or guns.
We will be filing on public so we will need to contact local borough or members of public to get permission to film there. Although first we need to find out which one it is and then gain contact with them and gain permission to do the filming. As well as this we will also need to need to get an age rating on it which we can either choose are self or given to BBFC to be chosen, the main reason for this would be to make sure that children and those who don't know what content can decided if it is for them.
We will also may need to check the copy right for a building if we filming in a public space, which will mean talking to who ever owns it, as well as this we may also need to find the borough in the link given on the website depending on the location http://filmlondon.org.uk/get-permission-film and so contact it to find the relevant one and then get into contact and gain permission ,as well as this if will need to get permission from are actor to see if they would wont to film in this location.
As well as the practice of making the filming it self we will need to make sure it us if right age rating for the views to see this is more relevant to the print production as that is where the ageing rating will be shown although the content of short film it self will judge the age of film ,which die to are audience being some what older as it is rages from 16-40 onwards although this does not mean we will have a high rating.
Movie review
Though there are no clear regulation with film review , their are organisations such as the online film critics society which give out awards such as best actor, this origination and way it critics and reviews film may set a stared as well as this I have found that many of the review sites do give regulation which they follow as well blogging and personal reviewing which is not upheld to a certain format and quality.Movie poster
There is an organisation which controls the print media of called the advertisements regulation agency which controls both broadcast and non-broadcast advertisements and this also checks if image is safe and honest advertisement and the only limit of what we can do is limited to not show rude or violent imagery.
Pre-productionAge rating
To judge the age of the film by the BBFC are film will more be more 15-12-12a more likely to be what we chose as they put no limit on the threat to the protagonist as well as this we can show moderate scenes which what we are more likely to produce and the tone and themes of horror films are conventionally disturbing in tone and themes and as are horror short film so we will stick to most conventions. We did not chose to do an 18 as we do not wont to produce a gory flick as we not using that sub genre as well as this PG and universal limit the amount of threating scenes and themes as well tone you can do which makes it unsuitable for the genre we are doing.
Resources and Equipment
We will uses story boards and the script writing program on Microsoft word on the schools computers as well this well also uses the macs for any blog work done for the blog.
Production
Though out this production we will use a camera to film from the school as well as a tripod as well as this we will also need costume and props ,this will consist of a fake gun as well as some sort of outfit and clothes that look like they are worn down also will need to get and file on a computer which looks like a real victims of a crime will also needs lighting when appropriate as well as this well have upwards of 3 actors as well in the production.
Post production
We will uses final cut to do the editing which we will gain access to though the mini macs from school free sound and sound cloud may also be used to gather sound for the production which will be used in editing.
Brand identity
All of our production will have a dark atmosphere to them and use low key light except from the review. Which to keep to convection will be in a lighter colour scheme but we will uses images which are used across all products such as location shots, as well as this we will have the font be constant in all products which would allow us to keep the sense of continuity that we want to achieve with our production. We will also ensure that all shots are similar on each product so through all of them to show most of products as individual. An example of this would be the exorcist which uses the female character most of the time except on the poster which uses a location shot of the film we will do the same. But our characters are male.sound
https://www.freesound.org/people/haydensayshi123/sounds/138681/-this sound is used to show action and the tension in the piece we thought this would be appropriate, as almost all of the horror films have moments of tension in them. This is what we have used this sound for that purpose we also after talking between use we then found this. track https://www.freesound.org/people/copyc4t/sounds/157938/ which we added slightly into the shot which gave the shot a more of the horror feeling to it as it sounded like the protagonist was being chased by a spirit. Thus increasing the tension on top of we or ready have this improved it a lot.
https://www.freesound.org/people/djgriffin/sounds/21221/ this was chant we decide to get rid off it because it did not fit our production as it sounded to different to a a cult chant and more like an instrument. Instead we chose to use this https://www.freesound.org/people/Incarnadine/sounds/16117/ which sounds human and fits a lot more. Also we added in https://freesound.org/people/copyc4t/sounds/157938/ as it was also used in another horror film but also it also gives a good way of adding tension.
